Mosaic Mural Design

Here it is! This is a Photoshop image of the design on the wall (double click on it to see a larger version). Since this is a mosaic project, not just a mural, when it's finished, there will actually be a lot of texture on the surface.

Welcome to the blog for Evergreen Avenue Elementary School's current mural/mosaic project!

Beginning in January of 2013, the students at Evergreen will begin to participate in workshops where they will make tiles that will be used in the final mosaic!

Artists Emily Squires and Jennie Shanker have created a design that celebrates reading as something that allows us to enter into wonderous imaginary worlds as well as into our own future in the real world. 

The project is scheduled to begin installation in the Spring, and should be finished by the time school ends in May.
